Presentation

Grand Paris Express is the largest project in Europe based on a new 200km automatic metro system serving 68 new stations. Ridership level is expected at 2 million passengers as construction is now ongoing on more than two thirds of the network which will be completed by 2030. In order to bring closer contemporary art and general public, Société du Grand Paris decided to implement the “Tandem” program where artists and architects very early on share their thoughts and concepts on each station and work together to simultaneously create a work of art that is integrated in each station. In addition to a state-of-the-art transit system, Grand Paris Express also delivers a unique collection of 68 artworks in the suburbs of the French capital. More than 30 architects, 2 designers and 40 artists are currently working on the project.
