October 09, 2015 15.00
Panel discussion
Professional partners: Hungarian Intellectual Property Office, National Board Against Counterfeiting
How could the ”Forger of the Century” be so successful for such a long time and why did he fail at the end? And, even more importantly: what are the lessons from this case for the institutions struggling against art forgery on international and national level? In cooperation with the National Board Against Counterfeiting and the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office, speakers present details of the Beltracchi case and give a summary on other unveiled cases. The presentations will be followed by an international roundtable discussion focusing on legal means and the tasks of organs of criminal investigations in fight against art forgery as well as on the possible contribution of art dealers and collectors to the success of these efforts.
