October 11, 2015 13.00
Panel discussion
The contemporary art scene in the Middle East has certainly appeared in the limelight in recent years. The artists, galleries, biennials and - not lastly - the establishment of a new museum scene continue to fascinate the international art world. Speakers involved in the discussion analyze from various angles the possible interpretations of this quick development. Is it only an ephemeral hype or has the art scene in the Middle East really become a globally decisive factor on a long term? What are the potentialities of the region, how developed is the art market, what are the preferences of the collectors, and how does art education contribute to the emergence of a new generation of artists?
