>> On the occasion of the 130th anniversary of his birth, André Kertész, and more specifically the world-famous artist's influence on contemporary art, is in the focus of attention. The influence of André Kertész, his lifework that defined the basics of photography in the 20th century, still makes its mark not only on photography but on artistic visual perspectives in general.
What is it that made Kertész’s work so special, what made it stand out from other creators of his century? Is it in his technics, his view on the world determined by his Central European roots, maybe his particularly sensitive personality? Can an artist of such global significance, an artistic and cultural icon of such international scale become a role model, can his heritage contribute to the appreciation of photography in his country of birth.
